Postcard of Encourgament

“When your life is on course with its purpose, you are your most powerful”- Oprah Winfrey

“God knows what he is about. If he has sidelined you out of the action for a while, he knows what he’s doing. Stay faithful! Stay flexible! Stay available! Stay humble! Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” Psalm 37:5

The words above were written on a beautiful postcard by my mentor and stuck between the pages of my career journal. Looking at the date, I find myself transported back to receiving my first graduate school rejection letter. I had applied at three universities, and this institution was my first choice. I recall being angry and then filled with doubt, though that postcard from my mentor became true. My second and third choices accepted me. I even found myself being the second university’s first choice. They offered me great financial relief in the form of a FULL one year academic scholarship and professional and clinical opportunities that were beyond my dreams. This moment in my life reinforced that everything happens for a reason. Have you had any major life moments that turned out to be a blessing in disguise? I trust that life is bigger than what I can see. I trust that there is a divine order beyond my control. I trust that no matter what happens, I will be all right
