Ripple Spritz

I laughed for a good minute after reading the name of the latest cocktail “Ripple Spritz.” It reminded me of one of my favorite comedians, the late great Redd Fox, and the classic television show Sanford and Son (for those who are unaware, Red Fox’s drink of choice was Ripple). Oh, how I could hear Fred G. Sanford cracking colorful jokes. Though, I digress, what I love about Blue Stem is that the box tells you what’s included. This box included: Thyme simple syrup, elderberry tincture, rosemary hydrosol (doesn’t it read like a science kit?), and a recipe card.  We would just need to add botanical gin, sparkling wine/champagne, and one lemon for peel (we omitted this). Once again, I handed this box off to my spouse so he could make cocktail magic. Reading the recipe, he rambled on about the different flavor profiles of sparkling wine and champagne. I took this as a culinary challenge and handed him a bottle of sparkling rose wine. In less than five minutes he was misting rosemary hydrosol on top of our drinks. He handed me a cocktail and I couldn’t resist the following toast “I am coming, Elizabeth”. Verdict: Wow, this was delicious, light, and refreshing. I highly recommend these boxes.
