Appreciate your body

 Appreciate your body for what it does for you rather than how it looks. It will shock no one when I say that we are an appearance-focused society. But trying to constantly control your appearance keeps you at war with your body. An important facet of positive body image is learning to appreciate our bodies for what they do for us. Not everyone has the same degree of body function or ability, but most of us can appreciate having hands that let us garden or pet our animal companions, senses that let us see a sunset or smell a rose, a heart and lungs that operate 24/7 without our conscious thought, and a body that gives our brains a home. – Carrie Dennett
