My spouse won a Food Saver 2-in-1 Vacuum Sealing System with Starter Kit, 4800 Series, v4840 at some company event he attended. I looked at it and thought I don’t want that thing on my counter taking up space. I also wondered if we would use it. My spouse swore it was better than Ziploc bags and would keep meat fresher.
Although we have now used it for several months, I honestly really didn’t think much about it until today. I found turkey from Thanksgiving dinner in the freezer. I defrosted it before work, came home, and mindlessly made myself a club sandwich. The turkey was still amazing! I am talking about like it tasted like I just sliced it off the turkey- call me impressed. So, I made my spouse a sandwich and said “Try this”.
He laughed and said “I told you so.” Does anyone else have this amazing machine? Please tell me how much you’re loving it. I truly can’t imagine hating it. I would also say run out and get yourself one, but even my jaw dropped when I saw the price tag at Costco for $149.99 (it is on coupon this month for $119😊) Still, like my Wusthof knives, (they are on sale through June 😊 ) I totally believe this machine is worth it. You could also make the argument you would never have to buy Ziploc bags again.

Yes, it came across my mind once of getting one, but now my husband is just retired, and helps out a lot, we don’t need to freeze things for too long.

We purchase meat from Costco and fish from the fish market so it really has come in handy for my household 😉
