The Sabbatical

Since September 1, 2017 I have reblogged all but three  posts (yes, the reflections are new, but I will get to that in a moment). You see, I found myself on a train getting ready to play my own personal game of Amazing Race with my best friend Abby. Following that venture, I would be off on another adventure with my spouse and from there I promised myself equal weeks of down time. Not wanting blogging to seem like work, I started reading my blog from the start on the train and picked out some of my favorite posts to share with you. I think we should all go back and review and reflect on our words. It is the prime time to ask ourselves “Why do I write and share?”

JML29 sums me up nicely when she says “Real life of a MSW: a mix of posts across professional life, home life, cooking and current affairs, this blog often gets me thinking deeper on issues. “(Thank you!) That is my mission.

I also found this to be a great time to review our blog format. I will not be updating mine. I like the simplicity of it (I am, however, always open to constructive criticism). Now on to the daily reflections– they came about as traveling with a devotional would take up space in my luggage. Therefore, I typed up piles of reflections and pre- scheduled them in no order, allowing me to get a daily dose of inspiration no matter where I was in the world. Thank you for allowing me to send you two posts a day. Thank you for your likes. Thank you for your comments. Thank you for following me on Instagram. I take none of those things for granted. I know each of our time is valuable. With that, I bid you a season of new posts. I am also curious which of your posts should be re-read? Let me know in the comments.

What an interesting exercise, and Ithought I had recognized some of your posts 😊. A great idea to revisit earlier posts and to check in with the big questions – why do we post and what do we want our future posts to be about? Some serious pondering will be required!
