How much paid leave do members of congress give their own staffs? There’s no across-the-board policy in Congress for paid leave- how much is up to each member- so Marie Claire asked all 100 senators what they provide. Thirty-one replied:27 Democrats, two Republicans, and two Independents. Of those, Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-ill) had the most generous plan, with 16 weeks paid, followed by senator Kamala Harris (d-calif), with 14 weeks paid; most others who give paid leave allot 1 weeks.

I always wonder why the US is so bad at this and giving a proper amount of holiday each year. Is it normal that you only get 10 days annual leave (excluding statutory days)?

I too wonder that it is my hopes that the US follows Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-ill) lead. Thank you for reading and commenting.
