I grew up in a house where we didn’t sit on certain further and some dishes were never used. All my dishes are very nice and I use them ALL.

I knew of such houses with plastic on the furniture, rooms children didn’t enter, and plenty of items just for display. I vowed even as a child that it wouldn’t be my home. I am happy to say, I kept that promise. My home is a beautiful space of vintage and modern. Guest are welcome to sit wherever, and eat off the good dishes, and drink out of the good glasses because that’s all I own…lol
