My brother left me a voicemail and said, “I can’t find your holiday cider on your blog.” I sent him a link  to my Pomegranate Cider and my phone rang. “The other one.” I laughed and thought- oh, how did I forget about the holiday cider showdown between my spouse and me. Here’s the recipe. I leave it to you to decide which is best. Cheers!

  • Juice of one orange
  • 2 cup fresh, unfiltered apple cider
  • 1 cinnamon stick, broken in half
  • Juice of one lemon
  • 2 shots Vanilla Crown Royal

Methodology Mixologist: Mix all ingredients together in a pot except Vanilla Crown Royal and lemon. Turn the heat to medium and let the mixture come to a simmer. Let simmer for 10 minutes or so, until it’s nice and fragrant. Squeeze in lemon and whisky, and allow to simmer two more minutes. Pour into two warm mugs. Serve immediately.e
