Ask before bringing a guest or your kids. Or your pet. Don’t assume they’re automatically invited, no matter how well you know or your host or hostess.

    Yeah that’s true…some people bring extras with them when they are invited and they don’t realize that extras might not be catered for.

    I’ll never forget the formal, sit-down holiday dinner we hosted when one of the guests showed up late and brought along three uninvited friends.

    I think this can extend to neighbours as well – ask before you invite yourself over!
