What do you get the person who has everything? Apparently, the answer is subscription boxes. I received several types of subscription boxes during the holidays, and they just keep coming. So, I felt I would share my reviews.
First up, Universal Yums, which is a company that sends you curation of snacks from different countries each month. The first box we got was from Czechia. Overall, we enjoyed most of the snacks. We made up a silly game called “What does this remind you of?” because a lot of the snacks brought back childhood memories. The worst snack was pretzels that tasted like black licorice (yuck!). The best snack was the ketchup chips, they were very unexpected but delicious. The box also features a score card, a booklet that describes each snack and includes Czechia games. We played a trivia game (did you know that in 1707 a castle in Cezky had a moat filled with Bears) and turned it into a fun drinking game (hey, it was date night, but yes, we felt aged the next morning). The other two games were wordy and complicated i.e. you had to unscramble the word in a sentence, then match that sentence to a photo of a famous person. The box also included a potato soup mix recipe (warning package is not written in English), which I am sure I turned into an American soup by adding fresh herbs, wine, and tofu, but it also felt like I was prolonging box, as the next night we laughed and talked more about the snacks over dinner. Would I recommend this subscription box? I would, I like the concept of , allowing one to try unique snacks in manageable quantities. The Universal Yums subscription service also has an online store, where you can order snacks a la cart if you like them. Have you tried this subscription service? What were your thoughts?

I’m not a snack person, but we did once receive a present from an outlet which provided us with the ingredients and recipes for meals to prepare ourselves. Good meals but we we expected to continue the subscription which we didn’t

That is the downside of subscription services. They make wonderful gifts, but it is also a pain to cancel them, or worse you don’t know when they end, leaving you with a surprise bill.

I’ve never subscribed to a prescription box. My sorority offers them and I’m like nope. I just want what I want.

I think you might have a typo in your comment because I don’t think prescription boxes are legal 😉. In regards to subscription boxes/services they are not for everyone, and it is totally okay to like what you like as there is comfort in the familiar.
