Perfectionism

Back in my teens and much of my twenties I wore perfectionism as a badge of honor.Perfectionism kept me striving. Perfectionism kept me focused. Perfectionism kept me achieving. Perfectionism kept me going in the face of insurmountable challenges At the same time…Perfectionism kept me doubting when I needed to trust. Perfectionism kept me going back to the drawing board when I needed to keep going. Perfectionism kept me comparing when I needed to stand in my own brilliance. Perfectionism kept me quitting too early in some cases and not leaving early enough in others

  1. Yeah I’ve dealt with that disease as well! As parents and spouse you just wear so many hats and you want everyone to be happy and succeed so you apply unnecessary pressure on yourself. But at this age and time in my life, FORGET being perfect. I just want to chill and be happy. I laugh at myself a lot these days. And I don’t take a lot of period serious anymore nor situations. I measure things now through the lens of an EKG strip. I only give life to the lethal rhythms.
