Okay, I may be very late to this project, but I just found this article in my bin and I love the idea. To those of you not who are not familiar with the six-word memoir, it was founded January 6, 2006 by Larry Smith and Tim Barko. They took a cue from novelist Ernest Hemingway, who, according to literary legend, was once challenged to write a short story in only six words. Smith’s editors, Larry Smith and Rachel Fershleiser, gave the six-word story a personal twist, asking Smith readers to tell their life story in just six-words. I love the memoirs below and ask what would your memoir be?

- If you can’t stay smile as you walk by
- Forever entertained by the universe’s humor
- I refused to be a victim…
- You are worthy because you are born
- Failing gracefully. Hoping there’s a mattress!
- Use it up, wear it out, and make it do, or do without
- I’ve made all the best mistakes
- Every problem has a creative solution
- Old too soon. Smart too late
- Recipe for failure. Changed my ingredients
- I have time to fix this.
- I am all about the ocean
- I want it to be good
- Did everything except be young
- Only thing stopping me is me
- I am definitely in my zone
- Seeking the fullest expression of self
- Made mistakes. Learned lots. Made more.
- Leave a trail , never look back
- The truth will fear no questions
- Stumbling into everything falling into grace
- Let the universe handle the details
- Forgiving and ease- stunningly elusive creatures
- Motto and blood type : Be positive
- Try harder. Be better .Love more.
- Life gives lemons but no juicer
- Flaws build character, not short comings
- Car jacked in the tunnel of love
- The good child until I wasn’t
- Mission accomplished – but will consider reincarnation
Happily lived long enough to reminisce

Reblogged this on e-Quips and commented:
Could you sum up your life (or anyone else’s) in only 6 words? Give it a try. You will rapidly find you distill priorities to the precious few.

So far the response has been favorable. No one has shared their results with me yet. 😉
