Can chivalry and feminism coexist?
Positively Purging–I welcome your feedbacks in the comments and your likes and passing the real life wisdom on to others as I embark on this new venture of “positively purging“, as I know each of these pieces represents something…
I’ve always defined myself as a feminist and I say, “Yes”. Chivalry is good manners and doesn’t have to indicate anything demeaning or dismissive. It’s nice if someone opens a door for you, but whoever gets there first should do it. On the other hand, there’s a point where chivalry can become absurd — such as a woman sitting in the car waiting for a man to race around the other side to open her door for her. xx Alisa

What an interesting question! I think of both as respect – respect for others and respect for oneself. They go well together and can be worn by either gender. 🙂

I couldn’t say it any better, at the end of the day it is about respect and kindness despite one’s gender.
