Bought The Property, Landscaping Included

Reading the article“Bought The Property, Landscaping Included”: Woman Shocked By Ex-Homeowner’s Request 2 Years.” I have to say this hit close to home. No, I am not looking to sell, but I plant things as life reminders. One is the beautiful apple tree in my front yard, which we grew from seeds of an apple after a day in an apple orchard. Then there is the huge white hydrangea that I planted from a nursery baby after I lost a dear friend and mentor. There’s the Pink Jasmine that engulfs my secret garden in beautiful pink blooms spring through mid-Autumn, oh, and then I have a forest of Thuja Green Giants that we planted from starter plants. Surrounding my home is forty plus feet of lush green guards or the windmill palms my spouse has planted as he dreams of island life. What to take and what to leave is a hard question, but thinking of this query waiting two years is absurd. This is a conversation that should have taken place when the owner was selling. What are your thoughts?

  1. Each home we have bears memories, some of which have tangible meaning. Part of leaving involves letting the tangible ones go. That could perhaps form part of the reply to this request.
