Therapeutic Rant

Not-Complaining.jpg

I left my personal laptop open and someone noticed my blog “Aren’t you a clinical licensed social worker (LICSW)? You know you’re the top of the food chain” “Why aren’t you writing more about social worker things?” “Why don’t you have more followers?” (I am thankful for the 771  of you) I took a deep breath and politely stated, “I write for me, and those who appreciate my style. Far as writing more about social work… oh, I have answered that question and continue to answer that question with the question of ‘How did you got here?’”
However, if all you think I am going talk about is social work, you have come to the wrong place. I believe in having a complete life. I enjoy my profession, but it’s not something I want to talk about day in and day out. Furthermore, I am a therapist. It’s like being a freaking secret agent. You can’t really talk about your day, as 80% of it is confidential. For the curious wondering who therapists talk to- we talk to other therapists. However, as one of my great mentors once told me, there comes a time when not even a professional clinical group can help, and you have to take it to God. Another reason I blog is because I am purging and honestly it feels good to put these little tidbits out into the world, as every lesson does not have to be a 55-minute session or lecture. Sometimes it is just a K.I.S.S. (keeping it short and sweet).
