I just came across a piece in my journal that made me think how far I come. The piece isn’t dated, but by the places listed I am sure this was pre-graduated school. It reads

“I want to volunteer as a tutor, because of my own life experiences. This position will provide me with hands on experience toward my degree in social work. My previous volunteer experience has been with _ which provided me the opportunity to tutor children at _ elementary. I helped provide meals at _. My current experience consists of working at a day care for two and half years, _ summer reading program, and I assisted with several one-day programs and workshops at _ Saturday program, _ art in the park for kids, and _.”

Reading this, it is clear I always wanted to help those who needed help. It also shows I always keep a list of my accomplishments.
