Take a midweek break. Summer may have you dreaming of long weekends but researcher’s have found that the best day to take off is actually Wednesday. It interrupts the forced rhythm of the nine to five giving you an extra opportunity to sleep and wake naturally which is healthier.

A couple of years back I was able to negotiate some additional leave through my work, called lifestyle leave. I opted for Wednesdays and have 20 Wednesdays off, scattered throughout the year. I thought I’d be happier if I worked less and I’m pleased to say it’s true 😁
