I interviewed for a job that went to someone else with more experience, but the company called me back to offer me another position. I was surprised because I’d never actually interviewed for the this other job, but I was assured that is was a real offer, and so I accepted. Months later, I found out that when my new bosses met me, they were confused because I wasn’t the person they’d selected. as it turns out the sticky note that said “Call and offer job” got stuck on the wrong file – mine!
