I have plants picked out but don’t know how to design a layout for the best visual impact. what is your advice?

- Plant in mass, as this approach has the most visual impact.
- Group like plants together.
- Plant more of each variety, and fewer varieties in total.
- Make sure to include trees, shrubs, and evergreens in your plan. Single specimens offer a place for your eyes to rest.
- Consider adding sculptural elements like a path or a well-placed boulder.
Good advice

I have a guy coming over next year to redo my front and back yard and make it beautiful! I’m going to use Little Rocks instead of mulch this time. I don’t know what to do with this grass. With both of my trees gone out front and out back, I see no chance of beautiful green yards. 😰

Installing rocks is wonderful. I had the grass professional ripped out and blue/gray river rock installed. It is gorgeous, but it can be costly, and a logistical nightmare. I have a ton of thoughts on this, but I will try to keep it brief: check rock quarries over big box stories, get rock samples there are a ton of sizes, ask about pallet price vs bagged prices, ask about drainage and installation (some quarries will install). I went with the dump truck method. Luckily, we were replacing the fence at the same time. To add color to your yard, I would suggest oversized colorful ceramic pots with perennials.
