nurture the things that do

I’m finding that the key to not responding to/engaging with things that don’t deserve your energy, is to more intentionally nurture the things that do. Like opening the blinds in the morning. Writing a poem. Going for a walk. A cool glass of lemon water. Spending a moment with a loved one. Smiling. Self hugs. Dancing around your living room. The external noise will always be there, but that doesn’t mean you have to be in the noise.Mariah Maddox
