I think for a culture of people who have been for so many years denied and deprived and lacking in self-esteem, it’s extremely hard to see the possibility of what awaits in your future. It’s hard because the world has given your ideas about who you can’t be. It takes a lot of courage to be who you really are, and not let the rest of the world tell you what that is.
