Try Aromatherapy

Essential oils like lavender, peppermint, rose, and eucalyptus are soothing and relaxing.

To make a simple scent diffuser, put a few pieces of rock salt in a small container and add a few drops of an essential oil.

Anytime you feel stressed, open the container and breathe in the relaxing scent.

You could also get an aromatherapy oil diffuser to create a soothing scented atmosphere in the room.

Some caregivers have said that using these types of room diffusers are a great way for both them and their older adult to feel more relaxed.

  1. I love lavender. I use to have oil plug ins. My great niece visited me one year and she bumped into on the wall and it spilled all over the wall. The stain is still on my wall till this day. I can’t wait to get me a really good interior paint job.

have never been a fan of diffusers because of the mess. What has worked for me is washing and ironing my linen with scented water is a wonderful game changer. I also have been known to spritz the towels with scented water before putting them in a dryer. I wish you luck in finding a good interior painter. I have yet to find success in finding one.

Have you ever seen the inhalers for aromatherapy? I’ve heard people say they look like a Vicks vapor rub inhaler. They’re nice because you can put whatever you want on them and carry them with you. Still,I have often found that some thing as simple as a cotton ball works well if you don’t have a diffuser. If caring for someone and you know the person benefits from the aromatherapy, say the person loves lavender, and it seems to calm them, it’s possible to just put a drop of lavender on a cotton ball and either put it in the pillowcase of their bed or when they’re moving about, you can just put it on the cotton ball and tape the cotton ball to their shirt. I always love seeing people share these simple ideas of using aromatherapy. I love to do a lot with essential oils, but the simple solutions are often the best. I’m glad I stumbled on your blog. I was once a social work major, but had to switch to a custom major due to health concerns that made completing intern internships impossible.

I have not heard of inhalers for aromatherapy, but there are a lot of ways to use essential oils. I do find that cotton balls are a simple affordable way to utilize them. I personally like scented water, spraying, washing and drying your clothes with it can be an emotional game changer. I was also glad to read that you have found a profession that you enjoy. Thanks for reading and commenting!
