Accepting

I am accepting myself and others as they are, and knowing the difference is essential to living an easy life. Accepting others and their ways doesn’t mean I am lowering my principles. It means I prioritise my inner peace and choosing not to be disturbed by something I can’t change or influence. Nor do I have a right to change.

And, of course, accepting others is very important in forgiving and forgetting – and our mental health.

Acceptance means I don’t take things personally and get thicker skin when things hurt me. It is not easy, but if we make this a bit of a mantra, it becomes easier.
