Walking through market I couldn’t believe Romanesco was 3 for $1. I happily picked two. When I turned to finish my shopping a gentleman asked me “What the hell it is?” I replied “It’s a hybrid of a cauliflower and broccoli, but it tastes more like cauliflower. Cook it the same way you would cook either of those.” Bon Appétit.
- 2 Romanesco florets
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1/2 lemon sliced into circles
- Juice from 1/2 lemon
- 1 cap full of Herbnfarm NW Pike Place Herbs
Preparation: Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Mix everything in a bowl with your hands and sprinkle with sea salt and freshly cracked pepper. Bake for 20 minutes, or until tender and slightly charred. Serve warm.

This is good information. I did not know either. I would have asked you the same thing. Did a study on cauliflower and it provides many health nutrients. Broccoli is quite close too. I’ll have to look for the next time I’m at the market.

It’s a great find, but be advised it’s not always that cheap. I have seen it as pricey as $5 a head 😕

It sounds delicious. I was introduced to it when my cousin served it for a dinner side.
