What do you recommended as the fist steps for people wanting to be more active in local government.? The best first step is just show up. In most places, simply showing up (with a few friends) is enough to have a real voice at public meetings or other forums. And if you organize those friends, write letters, speak up during public comment sessions and circulate petitions, you can begin to complete the people with power to notice you and listen.
Positively Purging-I welcome your feedbacks in the comments and your likes and passing the real-life wisdom on to others as I embark on this new venture of “positively purging”, as I know each of these pieces represents something…

If you don’t show up you can’t win elections

Well, I’m a local government CEO – so, I make sure I’m available to the communities I serve. I try and address issues as best I can so they don’t became bigger than Ben Hur and in the process ensure that people are heard – and I make sure my staff do the same.
