Engage all five senses when you eat. Experts say the practice of mindfulness – being fully aware of your thoughts and feeling in a nonjudgmental way- can help lower your stress response, improve focus and cognition and fight pain. And if you do it while you eat, it can also help you make smarter choices about what foods you consume and recognize as sense of fullness before you over do it. Try ths when you sit down with your meal, focus on how it looks, smells, tastes and feels in your mouth. Don’t watch TV or look at your phone – simply pay attention to your food and your surroundings. Go slow and cause mid meal to check in how hungry you are.
