In what moment from your life have you felt truly present? My dad was the last to say goodbye to my mom. He sat on the edge of her bed and started repeating a saying he used several times: In one more hour, we’ll be over the border. My mom’s condition had prevented her from speaking, so it was amazing when, halfway through, she joined in with him and said, “We’ll be over the border.” Then they gave each other a look I’ll never forget that seemed to sum up their life together. It spoke of their love, the joy and hard times they shared. It said, “Thank you for sharing your life with me.” – Tom Dale
