I love the Op-Ed section of the paper. I believe we all need to write at least one letter on something we’re passionate about in our lifetime. In saying that, I applaud this reader
Some fellow Americans seem to have forgotten the freedoms all citizens have enjoyed for years:
If you don’t want an abortion, you don’t have to have one; if you don’t want to marry someone of the same gender, you can choose to marry the opposite gender; if you don’t want to change your gender, you don’t have to; if you don’t want to go to a public library where there is a drag queen story hour, you and your children don’t have to go to the event; if you don’t want your children reading the truth about slavery, Indian massacres and LGBTQ+ people, you don’t have to provide those books for them; if you don’t like the curriculum in public schools, home-school your children; if you don’t believe that Jesus said “love your enemies,” you don’t have to.
Everyone should be allowed to live in freedom and not worry about being harassed, shot or killed. It is not necessary to force your “freedoms” on others.

Let’s look at the next 12 weeks as a clean slate – a final quarter brimming with potential. Here are some tips for revisiting your goals:
Look at what’s working and what’s not. Keep goals that align with your purpose, release those that no longer serve you.
Get crystal clear on priorities. Limit yourself to 1-3 significant goals to finish the year strong.
Break big goals down into smaller milestones. Target what you can accomplish in the next 1, 3, and 6 weeks.
Reflect on gaps holding you back from past goals. How can you fill them? More support, skills, strategy? Infuse joy into your process.
Choose goals that uplift you, not just accomplishments. Share your goals with a community. Having accountability partners boosts follow-through.
Visualize your future self-achieving these updated goals. Make them feel real. May you approach your goals with grace – and renew a sense of harmony, optimism, and possibility for the road ahead. You’ve got this! Determination plus flexibility is key. Let’s seize this fresh start together, -Happy Healing!
I carry my husband’s ashes with me wherever I travel. Rene was my true love and partner. After his death, fellow nurses convinced me to attend NurseCon where 3,000 nurses take a cruise for enjoyment and education. The last night there was a “Glow”-themed party. I wore an orange wig. Laser lights and neon sparkled all around me. I sprinkled some of Rene’s ashes into the ocean. In the morning, I woke to a text from a friend who said she had dreamed of Rene, surrounded by lights and lots of people. She said, “He was happy.” — Laurie Beauchemin

Positively Purging-I welcome your feedbacks in the comments and your likes and passing the real life wisdom on to others as I embark on this new venture of “positively purging“, as I know each of these pieces represents something…
Anne Klein, the designer, had a great quote before she passed away. She said: ‘The clothes that I design won’t change the world, but the women who wear them will.’ Movies won’t change the world, but movies might make the person who watches them want to behave differently, learn something else, believe something different. That’s really been the goal.”
