A Note From a Stranger

I sat crying in a Nashville emergency room, more than 9,000 miles from my Australian home. I was having a bad reaction to a medication. A gray-haired woman across the room looked at me with kind eyes. As the nurse escorted her to another room, she handed me a note that said, “You are not alone.” Later, she returned, and asked if I was all right. I learned she was dying of lung cancer. How unexpected and moving — that toward the end of her life, she was thinking of me, a stranger in a waiting room. — Kate Cowling

Eating Seasonally

Look for in season produce. Yes, you can buy fresh brussels sprouts for Easter dinner, but they cost three times what you’d pay at Thanksgiving. Eating seasonally also exposes you to new foods. During the fall I substituted Swiss Chard for Spinach and in spring, I swapped rhubarb for cherries.

Loving God

Why do you love God? How can you show others His love?

I’m grateful to know Your love and to be a part of Your family, Father. Show me ways to creatively express that love.

Moves

Changing your position isn’t a weakness. As long as it’s coherent with your principle.

Self-Love

Here’s what I have learned; self-love is a state of mind where you appreciate, respect and honor yourself. It is a state of mind where you do not break promises to yourself, where you are as kind to yourself as you are to others and where you forgive yourself as easy as you forgive others. Self-love is about being your own best friend, because make no mistake, the most important relationship you will ever have in your life is with yourself.
