I found this in my purge basket, and the title on the top of the document read “Christian Ways to Reduce Stress”. I share the title with you because I believe despite your religious origins or beliefs that many of us could benefit from this advice. Are there ones you would add or remove?
- Pray
- Say no to projects that won’t fit into your schedule or that will compromise your mental health
- Simplify and unclutter life.
- Less is more (although one is not enough, two are too many)
- Allow extra time to things and to get places
- Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don’t lump the hard things all together
- Take one day at a time
- Live within your budget; don’t use credit card for ordinary purchases
- K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
- Do something for the kid in you every day.
- Get enough Rest
- Eat Right
- Write down thoughts and inspirations
- Everyday find time to be alone
- Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don’t wait until its time to go to bed to try to pray.
- Make friends with Godly people
- Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.
- Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often good “Thank you Jesus”
- Laugh – Laugh some more!
- Talk less; listen more.
- Slow down.
- Every night before bed, think of one thing you’re grateful for that you’ve never been grateful for before.

This list is filled with wisdom.
