How to Relieve Stress

Image result for Ways to Reduce Stress

I found this in my purge basket, and the title on the top of the document read “Christian Ways to Reduce Stress”. I share the title with you because I believe despite your religious origins or beliefs that many of us could benefit from this advice. Are there ones you would add or remove?

  1. Pray
  2. Say no to projects that won’t fit into your schedule or that will compromise your mental health
  3. Simplify and unclutter life.
  4. Less is more (although one is not enough, two are too many)
  5. Allow extra time to things and to get places
  6. Pace yourself. Spread out big changes and difficult projects over time; don’t lump the hard things all together
  7. Take one day at a time
  8. Live within your budget; don’t use credit card for ordinary purchases
  9. K.M.S. (Keep Mouth Shut). This single piece of advice can prevent an enormous amount of trouble.
  10. Do something for the kid in you every day.
  11. Get enough Rest
  12. Eat Right
  13. Write down thoughts and inspirations
  14. Everyday find time to be alone
  15. Having problems? Talk to God on the spot. Try to nip small problems in the bud. Don’t wait until its time to go to bed to try to pray.
  16. Make friends with Godly people
  17. Keep a folder of favorite scriptures on hand.
  18. Remember that the shortest bridge between despair and hope is often good “Thank you Jesus”
  19. Laugh – Laugh some more!
  20. Talk less; listen more.
  21. Slow down.
  22. Every night before bed, think of one thing you’re grateful for that you’ve never been grateful for before.
