For me, part of choosing myself has been about overcoming my fears, many of which we’re facing this year. I am no longer asking for permission to belong to the nation the doles out racism and brutality with ease, all the while struggling to admit is faults and repair to wrongdoings. My ancestors were brought to this country against their will and hundreds of years ago so I’m taking up my own form of reparations through peace and equality within myself – And I will take my place wherever I choose, as a human, a woman, and entrepreneur. I’m choosing to see every moment as a gift: life, death, joy, pain, all of the above.
That’s not to say I’m perfect, for the I’m at perfect peace. I have my moments- of fear, or anger-But I work hard to get through them swiftly, moved to through the chaos, and get back to the calmer side of life, where I prefer to exist in thrive. We’re all experiencing the here and now in a raw and remarkable way. Don’t fight the waves of change the are crashing over all of us. Times like these are proof that we are alive, and they expose control as an illusion. Find the lessons -Make life work for you. There’s so much beauty to create. Beatrice Dixon
Positively Purging-I welcome your feedbacks in the comments and your likes and passing the real life wisdom on to others as I embark on this new venture of “positively purging“, as I know each of these pieces represents something…
I often talk about self love. But is it really as big as we try to make it out to be? I think most of us practice this daily in ways we don’t notice. But I guess intentional self love is good too.

You raise, a really good question. I like to tell my clients you need to know self love, and how you want to be treated. When you don’t it often allows others to define what that means for you…

Practicing personal hygiene is self love. We practice it daily. I don’t know if it’s we need to know per say. It just IS.

Many with mental illness do not practice personal hygiene daily. I wrote about this recently. You may find this post interesting.
