spiritual reflection

Dear God, Grant us the courage to embrace our choices with wisdom and grace, guiding us to live authentically, bravely, and with hearts open to the possibilities you
have set before us.
Amen

Authentic self

All my life I’ve had people tell me about her too much or she always goes doing the most she thinks she better than use. I’m glad I figured out a long time ago that its not my fault that some people can’t handle the way God made me confident, sassy, brilliant and black don’t let their problem become your problem.

Folks believe that real friends are those who stand by you when times are hard. The truth is true friends are also there to celebrate your wins and cheer and encourage you to the victory line. Some people are only comfortable when they can be the one you can lean on, when they can feel like the benefactor is feeding their sense of I’m a good person, but they become uncomfortable when your circumstances improve. They may not want to be envious but they are. The real ones hold your hand and support you equally in delight in your growth and success. They encourage you to smile, pursue laughter and scream I am better I am better.

you matter

You Matter All we can do in times like these is offer things that say to others: You matter to me. The Mason jar of chicken soup given to a neighbor, or the clay mug shaped by the hands of a friend, with a dog and goldfinch painted on the side-how it arrived in the mail unbroken. A phone call out of the blue, or message that says: Thinking of you. Let’s wrap each other in gestures so true, no one ever doubts how much they belong, no one ever questions whether or not to stay. – James Crews

Honor Your Emotions

You don’t have to feel “good vibes only.” Allow space for grief, anger, or sadness. All emotions are valid and part of your healing.
