While music can be just what you need sometimes to get you out the door, mix it up now and then and try listening to a podcast or an audiobook. Particularly when you are on a recovery run, it can hep to listen to something that isn’t too upbeat so that you keep pace steady and avoid getting too excited and running faster at the beat speeds up. With all the time you spend running, there are quiet few hours that could be spent listening to the news, and audiobook or even a running related podcast (my current favorite is “On Running”. You might find that the run goes by even faster, and in a matter of no time, you will not only be fitter, but smarter too!

True and I do that everyday when I go for my walk listening to what I like. Keeps me focused and can walk faster too.
