Collaborate with other creatives: Being around other creatives gives me the freedom to create. It’s difficult to be around people that are always shutting down new ideas. I want to build new things, and it’s helpful to be in community with people that encourage that. Don’t be afraid to collaborate with others. It will often inspire you to create things you might not have thought about, keep you motivated, and help you stay accountable on your “less-creative” days.

The Now

We dwell on the past. We worry about the future. But really, we only have now. Now is the only thing we can be sure of. And life is made of a bunch of “nows” for as long as we exist on this earth. So when I’m feeling anxious and my mind goes into a spiral of worries about what’s gonna happen next week, next month, or next year – I take a deep breath and tell myself to be here and now. Sometimes I write it down on a piece of paper as many times as I need.

Alphabet Game

Play a green alphabet game: Since green is the holiday’s signature color, use it as a theme for an alphabet game. Give each contestant a pen and paper and ask them to write letters of the alphabet down the left side of the sheet of paper. Set a time limit to see who can come up with the most green things that start with the letters from A to Z.
