Spiritual Reflection

Dear God, may we honor those who stand kind and strong, who use their voices for the greater good, and who safeguard and celebrate the blessings you have given us. Amen.

Defining Our Lives

We think that’s it’s the big moments that define our lives— the wedding, the baby, the new house, the dream job, but really, these big moments of happiness are just punction marks of our personal sagas. The narrative is written every day in the small and simple.  – Sarah Ban Breathnach

How Often Do You Hold Yourself Accountable?

Mentally strong people aren’t afraid to look in the mirror and ask themselves:

  • “Where am I making excuses instead of progress?”
  • “Where am I avoiding the issue instead of owning it?”
  • “Where am I blaming instead of being brave?”

Holding yourself accountable isn’t always easy, but doing the right thing rarely is.

Even if you can’t answer “always” to all of the questions above right now, that doesn’t mean you never will. With the right intention and tools, you can get — and stay — mentally stronger.

Toilet repairs

A fill valve and flapper inside the tank let water in and out. Most toilet issues begin there.

“If you hear water constantly running, you want to check your fill valve and flapper,” says David Rea, owner of Queen Anne Handyman. “With the fill valve, water may be spilling over the top. Flappers wear out over time and water seeps underneath them.”

To fix them, first shut off the water line and drain the tank. Then, screw in a new valve or attach a new flapper. Together, they cost less than a movie ticket and popcorn. – Marc Freeman
