Let it Flow

“When I was younger, I would sometimes write things before they were ready and there was nothing I could do with those things; they were green. [Now] I practice meditation. I believe that what I need to come into me will eventually be expressed. I don’t chase anything. If it’s not ready to come, it’s OK. I will never hurry anything. We come into bloom when it’s time.”

Beautiful Conversation

So what’s a lesson you’ve learned in the industry that you’ll carry throughout the rest of your life? The biggest life lesson I’ve learned is to remain humble. I love the saying, “The giant looks in the mirror and sees nothing.” Humility is such an important thing that can take humans far. Why is it important to keep some of yourself to yourself and away from social media?  I think privacy is key. I’ll speak to my industry, just as an actor and an artist. Someone once said, “If they pay to see you for free during the week, they won’t pay to see you on the weekend.” So I stick to that philosophy—keep some of that mystique. – Damson Idris

Always On My Counter

The one thing I consistently keep on my counters is a beautiful fruit bowl filled with apples, pears, lemons, limes, and grapes. Having fresh fruits makes your kitchen feel like home, and provides a pop of color if needed.  —Eleanor Trepte,

Boundaries

I am strong and capable of upholding my boundaries, even in difficult situations. I deserve to enforce my boundaries without guilt. I offer myself grace when I do feel guilty, knowing that I’m doing the work to unlearn deep programming. The only approval I need when it comes to honoring my boundaries is my own. My boundaries are necessary for my growth, happiness, and self-care. I am not responsible for others’ reactions when I assert and enforce my boundaries. Enforcing my boundaries is an act of self-love and self-respect. I am allowed to say “no” and establish my own limits.

Suprise Harvest

Every year I send holiday cards, but a new thing I’m adding includes a packet of seeds I have harvested from my garden. I’m excited to see what my friends and family grow.
