Positively Purging-I welcome your feedbacks in the comments and your likes and passing the real life wisdom on to others as I embark on this new venture of “positively purging“, as I know each of these pieces represents something…
Life can often feel like a series of brick walls we have to climb. What if the challenges we’ve met, big and small, weren’t there to block us but to strengthen us? Brick by brick, we’re adding layers of perseverance that build us up for what’s just down the road …Did you know these forces were aligning inside of you? That the events you may wish to forget were readying you for something memorable? Often when we ground ourselves in this knowledge, it becomes easier to spot moments between the bricks that are good and worthy of pausing, acknowledge and enjoy.

I’ve dealt with those types of biases for a long time in our business. Actresses, they’re infantilized. People don’t talk to them about money or deals; they say, “Oh, don’t worry about that, we have that.” Not empowering someone with information is a form of control. So, at a certain point in my career, I kind of took back the reins. I finally picked up the phone and said, “I’m not excited about this one part of my deal,” and my agent was like, “Well, let’s change it.” Sometimes you have to pick up the phone. Don’t assume. You don’t know the answers…I don’t know! I think there’s people who have understood that they should not be treated poorly and have decided not to go to work because they didn’t want to be treated poorly. Look, people know their power; people know their influence. There’s an entire new world order, too. – Reese Witherspoon
When cleaning out my mother’s house of 50 years, I found a letter my grandmother wrote in 1979 to my mom. Upon seeing her handwriting, I was immediately in her presence, her love. Since then, I have been trying to tell friends and loved ones that if you have something important to say, send a handwritten letter.” — Michael Paul Thomas, Asbury Park, N.J.
